10 Best Websites to Download Stock Photos for Free!

Last time I wrote a post to find free and legal contents for personal and commercial useIn this post I have some websites which gives you free and legal (that's right!) stock photos. Even if they are free some sites put some restrictions in the way they are using. But don't worry, it won't restrict your free use, unless you use it to redistribute it for money. 



Go to Unsplash and download whatever images you want. They updates 10 new photos every 10 days. Unsplash provides photos with a CC Zero license, which means photos from this site can be used for whatever thing and whatever way you wanted. Photos in Unsplash are provided by various photographers. You can also submit a photo for free if you like others to use it for free. 


This is a collection of some great photos captured and prepared by  a single photographer. This site comes with a CC Zero license. But the photographer urges to not use those images in any unwanted way like pornography,criminal, defamatory purposes. You can support the photographer by donating some money.


You can download a pack of 7 hi-resolution images every week as a zip file from this site. Or you can download separately every image. If you sign up, they will sent the zip pack to your mail every week which contains 7 images. This site also comes with CC Zero license.


Provides some best and hi-resolution free stock photos and comes with CC Zero license. They updates every day with a new photo. You can support them by donating if you like the images :)

5.  Pexels

Pexels is a base of CC Zero photos from various free stock providing websites. They updates daily with 5 new photos which are hand picked which assures the best from all worlds. Currently they covers over 1800 images at the time this post is written.


Provides some of the best photos. You can use it for what ever thing you want, but redistribution is not allowed. You cannot resell the images which are provided in Picjumbo. They also provides a premium account, which gives some extra images or complete collections straight to your mail.


Maintained by a Graphic and Web designer, who knows the pain of collecting best images for projects is providing some high quality images with what ever thing can do license. There is also a premium option is there which gives some bonus images plus the free directly to your Dropbox account.


Provides free, hi-resolution and high quality images with different licenses. The license covers, CC -BY ND 4.0, CC-BY 4.0 CC0. The images are provided by various users. Yuo can also submit a photo on CC0 license. You can use keyboard shortcuts like D to download while using the site.

9. Death to the Stock Photo

They sent you a pack of some quality free photos every month to your mail if you sign up. They also offers a premium membership.


We all know Flickr. Its a photo management site which manages stock images. But it also comes with a free sharing license with Creative Commons. Flickr Creative Commons provides a number of free sharing licenses like CC BY-2.0, CC-BY-ND-2.0, CC BY-NC-ND-2.0, CC BY-NC-2.0, CC BY NC-SA-2.0, CC BY-SA-2.0. Which all means you can use it for free but you have to give specific credits to the owners. Flickr have a pretty base of best photographs. A group having more than 5000 images called Free Use Photos in Flickr provides free photos which you don't need to give the owners credit.

There are a number of sites there which provides free photos other than mentioned here. You can use the Creative Commons search tools to find some other legal photos.

11. Sketchjar

Another site with some awesome collection of stock images with CC0 license. Images are categorized under various titles and you don't need to look up all the image colleciton to find the best one you needed. It will be under the title of your wish.
